Spurs have made an important decision in their plans to appoint a new manager, following the departure of Thomas Frank on Wednesday.
According to Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas, the north Londoners are likely to appoint an interim head coach for the time being, rather than bringing in a permanent manager mid-season.
They would then look to bring in an established manager at the end of the season.
This decision could point towards an interest in bringing back Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine is currently working for the USMNT, and is expected to lead the host nation into this summer's World Cup, but will be available from July, when his contract expires.

It still remains to be seen who Spurs opt to move for, both in the short term, and this summer.
Earlier on Wednesday, Tottenham Hotspur opted to part company with their Danish manager Thomas Frank, after just eight months in charge.

The decision comes after a 2-1 loss to Newcastle United, that left Spurs deep in relegation trouble, 14th place and just 5 points clear of the drop zone.
Former Brentford manager Frank was appointed to replace Ange Postecoglu in the summer, on the back of a successful spell with the Bees.
While Postecoglu also flirted with relegation in his final year in charge, ultimately finishing 17th overall, he did also lead Spurs to a Europa League title win, the club's first trophy in close to a generation.
Frank had been brought in to stabilise the club, and return Spurs to their status amongst the top places in the Premier League.
After failing to win in any of their last eight matches, and just two from the last 17, the Spurs hierarchy appear to have decided that Frank failed in his goals.
It remains to be seen who is appointed to take charge for the club's next fixtures.
