Swansea City will be without Francesco Guidolin on Wednesday after the manager was taken to hospital.

Guidolin will miss his side’s Premier League clash against Arsenal after being brought to hospital with a chest infection. The Italian boss has been referred to a respiratory specialist in London.

The club told the BBC that the 60-year-old is in a “comfortable position” and is expected to make a full recovery in the coming days.

“The specialist felt the best course of action was for Guidolin to remain in hospital for a few days to receive further treatment.”

Swansea City coach Alan Curtis will take charge of the side in Guidolin’s absence in the crucial tie. Before kick-off the Swans lie in 16th place, just three points clear of the relegation spots.
