Fifa ban Mino Raiola from transfer activity for three months

This could have implications for Paul Pogba and Matthijs De Ligt

Super agent Mino Raiola has seen a three-month ban from transfer activity made worldwide by the Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee. Raiola, who counts Manchester United's Paul Pogba as one of several high-profile clients, was initially handed a ban from the Italian FA earlier in the week. Had it remained this way, Raiola would have been able to continue to work on transfer deals so long as they did not directly involve Italian clubs. In other words, a rumoured Pogba move to Real Madrid would have been unaffected, as would Matthijs De Ligt's reported move from Ajax to Barcelona. That the ban has now been widened to cover the entire world could now mean that Pogba and De Ligt stay put at their respective clubs - at least until the next transfer window.

'The Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has today decided to extend the sanctions imposed by the Italian Football Association (FIGC) on the intermediaries Carmine and Vincenzo Raiola to have worldwide effect. Carmine Raiola is suspended for a period of three months and Vincenzo Raiola for a period of two months,' FIFA said.

'The decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee was notified today and takes immediate effect.'

Prior to the ban being extended beyond Italy, he had vowed to fight the decision made by the Italian FA in a statement released via a tweet on Thursday.
