Manchester City's players were left baffled after Troy Hawke gave them the Greeters Guild treatment as they arrived for training camp ahead of their preseason tour in the United States.
Hawke, the alter ego of comedian Milo McCabe, has made a name for himself by taking his Greeters Guild to a range of well-known UK shops, paying customers compliments as they pass through the doors - often irking staff in the process.

On this occasion, however, it appears Hawke was invited by the Premier League champions as the team assembled ahead of their tour of the United States.
While his Greeters Guild has attracted millions of views on social media in recent weeks, it seems several of City's stars were oblivious judging by their reactions.
Highlights include Jack Grealish looking completely perplexed after being told he has a "fabulously symmetrical face", Kevin de Bruyne being urged to ask himself "What would Jan Molby do?" and Erling Haaland being described as a "tremendous Nordic meat shield".

Last up is a brief exchange with Pep Guardiola, who is met with a riddle: "Who's more the pep talker: the pep talker, or the pep talker who gives Pep a pep talk?" Hawke asks.
City begin their tour in the early hours of Thursday morning, facing Mexican side Club America in Houston. They play a second and final tour game against Bayern Munich in Wisconsin on Sunday.
City face Liverpool in the Community Shield in Leicester on July 30th, beginning their Premier League campaign away at West Ham a week later.
