Concerns have been raised over the club's financial status
Wigan Athletic are late to pay players for the third time since July.
The Championship club's financial status has been a cause for concern after salaries were delayed on two previous occasions in 2022 alone.
Wigan's Bahrain-based owners played down the concerns and cited the 'Queen's Jubilee' and then 'issues with foreign banks' as the reasons behind the delayed payments.
However the Daily Mailhave reported that players did not receive their wages - which were due to be paid last Friday - with some players now pondering their future at the club as a result.
The club have refused to confirm if the wages have now been paid while the English Football League (EFL) also denied the chance to comment but are believed to be aware of the situation.
They also added that third parties had been approached and asked to find potential new buyers for the Latics, who were almost liquidated two years ago.
It's reported that a figure of £15m will be enough to buy the club, which is believed to be five times the amount the current owners paid to bring Wigan out of administration in 2021.
Despite making very few signings, Wigan are still putting up a fight in the Championship and sit 19th in the table at present and three points above the relegation zone.
The 2013 FA Cup winners face fellow ex-Premier League outfit Watford on Saturday. Meanwhile, Latics boss Richardson signed a new three-year deal on Tuesday.
