Putney Pusher suspect found dead after being released under investigation

Police confirmed the death of the main suspect

In June this year, Brandram was detained at his home in Chiswick for attempted grievous bodily harm.

This was in relation to the incident in 2017 on Putney Bridge, when a jogger shoved a female pedestrian into the path of a double decker bus.

Ambulance and police attended an address in west London where they found Brandram dead.

“At 19.12hrs on Tuesday, 15 September officers and the London Ambulance Service attended an address in Chiswick, Hounslow after a man was found unresponsive inside a property”, the Met Police said on Wednesday (16 September).

“At this time his death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious."

Meanwhile, a London Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called at 7.55pm on Tuesday 15 September to reports of an incident.”

“We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic and a clinical team manager.”

Who was Mr Brandram and how he was rearrested by police

For possession of Class A and Class B drugs – believed to be cocaine and cannabis, following a search of his house by police, the 44-year-old was rearrested.

Brandram was a multi-millionaire banker descended from royalty who worked as a director at a private bank.

He was also a decorated former British Army officer who served in several major conflicts.

The incident, known as “Putney Pusher”, occurred on May 15 of 2017.

While a jogger was coming from the opposite direction, a woman walking on Putney Bridge was approached.

The woman, who was never publicly identified, was shoved into the road by the man, into the path of an oncoming 430 bus.

Thanks to the quick reactions of the driver, Oliver Salbris, the woman’s life was saved, as he swerved at the last second and missed her head by inches.

The case of the jogger who carried on across Putney Bridge had sparked a long-running police investigation.
