As the World Cup slowly but surely comes into view, Adidas have whet our appetite with some of the colourful kits that will be on display during the quadrennial footballing extravaganza.

The countries are Germany, Russia, Spain, Belgium, Japan, Sweden, Argentina and Mexico. They're away kits, yes, but they are damn beautiful. Germany's is probably the nicest, a cracking shade of green in a throwback to the 1990 World Cup-winning side. The jersey will most likely trigger haunting memories for England fans as it was worn by Die Mannschaft when they knocked out Bobby Robson's side in the semi-final that year. https://twitter.com/adidasfootball/status/976035643699720192 Colombia have went with a striking deep blue. https://twitter.com/adidasfootball/status/976050775725170688 Spain's is, er, kind of bland. https://twitter.com/adidasfootball/status/976065837474963456 Mexico: solid but nothing spectacular. https://twitter.com/adidasfootball/status/976080969374498816 Sweden: effortlessly cool. https://twitter.com/adidasfootball/status/976096066994163712 Argentina: nice, seriously tasty. https://twitter.com/adidasfootball/status/976020551516016641 Belgium: lovely. https://twitter.com/batsflip/status/976061338031132672 Japan: no thanks. https://twitter.com/JSoccerMagazine/status/976090357510238208 Russia: pretty damn slick. https://twitter.com/AdamMaina_/status/976045046532313088
