Always time for a takeaway

A moped was spotted delivering pizzas to a supporter during Leyton Orient’s League Two clash against Grimsby Town on Saturday.

At first one can wonder how they managed to order their pizza but there is, in fact, a logical explanation to it. No really, there is.

Leyton Orient’s sponsors this season are a pizza company and as part of a hospitality package ran by the club, supporters are treated to a free pizza brought to them at half-time.

A section on the website known as ‘The Papa Johns Third Dugout’ allows up to eight fans to sit in the dugout and watch the game while being treated to pizzas at half-time. Unfortunately for anyone planning an away day, this offer only applies to home supporters.

One fan cleared up the confusion on social media, saying: “It’s part of their hospitality package and the pizza place is a sponsor.”

Meanwhile plenty of other supporters were fascinated by events at the The Breyer Group Stadium. One fan said: “I love everything about this.”

Another tweeted: “That’s one way to get your scran in.”

The scenes in East London are reportedly not new either and have been occurring since last season. Looks like Leyton Orient could have a few more people booking into their hospitality after seeing this.

Those lucky fans who were fortunate enough to have some pizza during the game have also been treated to a spectacle as the O’s lead newly-promoted Grimsby Town 2-0.

George Moncur opened the scoring with a penalty shortly after the start of the second-half while Thomas James has allegedly scored a Puskas-worthy contender with a 30-yard stunner.
