Erling Haaland's dominant first season in England continued on Wednesday after he broke a 28-year long Premier League record.
Haaland scored Manchester City's second in their 3-0 win against West Ham to take his tally to 35 goals in the top flight, making him the outright highest scorer in a single league campaign.
Alan Shearer and Andy Cole previously held the record together - having done so in 11 games more - but the Norwegian's delicate chip after his perfect run saw him write his name into the history books and score his 51st in all competitions.
The 22-year-old received a standing ovation and guard of honour from his teammates at full time and looked taken aback by the celebrations.
After returning to the changing room, Haaland's delivered a speech to the rest of the squad.
Keeping it short and sweet, he said: "I don't know what more to say but I'm really happy and thank you guys so much!"
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Haaland revealed that Jack Grealish, who provided the assist for his record-breaking moment, told the forward he wanted to play a part in the historic moment.
He said: "Me and Jack spoke before the game, he said he wanted to give me the assist for the record-breaking goal. Perfect ball from Jack."
City were frustrated by the away side in the first half but broke the deadlock shortly after the restart courtesy of Nathan Aké, who was left free at the back post to nod home.
Following Haaland's finish it was Phil Foden's strike that sealed the win after his deflected effort wrong-footed Lukasz Fabianski to take Pep Guardiola's side back to the top of the league with a game in hand on nearest challengers Arsenal.
