Arsenal fans think they know the real reason they lost on Thursday night

Quite the theory

Arsenal supporters started Thursday night confused about why the players were not wearing their red and white home kit and ended it with an interesting theory.

Fans are now convinced that their blue strip is cursed after the Gunners fell to a shock defeat in the return leg of their Europa League Round of 32 clash against Swedish minnows Ostersund.

Arsenal squeaked into the next round thanks to a comprehensive 3-0 win a week earlier but were given quite the scare at the Emirates.

And supporters think that it’s no coincidence that the side regularly struggle when the players wear blue, as they had to on Thursday due to an unusual Uefa ruling.

While Arsene Wenger saw his side come out on top earlier in the competition against BATE Borisov when wearing their blue away kit, their record in blue makes for pretty concerning reading.

When wearing the away strip, Arsenal have lost to Ostersund, Swansea, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Koln, Watford and were hammered 4-0 by Liverpool.

Arsenal were drawn against AC Milan in the next round, meaning they will wear blue again when they travel to the San Siro on March 8.

And fans will be dreading that day as they think that the side simply can’t win in the away strip.

I guess that’s why they call it the blues.
