It was more about showing Wenger gratitude for his service over the years for Arsenal fans, whose only hope of playing Champions League football next season is to win the Europa league this year.
West Ham fans decided to take this opportunity to poke some fun at the Arsenal manager, with their own variation of a classic football chant. The Hammers’ away section sang: “Arsene Wenger, he left ’cause you’re s***”.
The Arsenal fans were not going to let the visitors have the last laugh, though, and promptly responded by chanting: “”Arsene Wenger, he’s won more than you”.
Fair play, can’t really argue with that.
