Alfredo Morelos is an interesting fella

Rangers’ Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos is no stranger to controversy. He enjoys putting himself, scoring goals and generally being the most annoying person imaginable on the football pitch.

Being this sort of person means that Morelos is often involved in arguments with other players on the pitch. It led him to getting sent off after elbowing Scott Brown in one of this season’s Old Firm matches, and has seen him mocked by Aberdeen fans who unfurled a banner mentioning his mother at a match between the Dons and Rangers at Pittodrie.

On Sunday, Morelos was playing for Rangers against Kilmarnock in their final league game of the season. The match ended 2-1 to Killie to ensure Steve Clarke’s side finish the season in third place and qualify for European football next season.

While it was a disappointing day for Steven Gerrard’s side, no one can rightly say that Morelos didn’t showcase every last bit of his arsenal of both footballing and shithousing skills throughout the match.

He equalised in the 66th minute, scoring a lovely goal to cancel out Kilmarnock’s opener from Chris Burke. And in true Morelos style he didn’t stop there.

No. What he did after he scored was mock the Kilmarnock fans by mimicking mouths moving as he ran back to the halfway line.

As a result, he was booked by the referee, in true Morelos fashion.

Fans of Scottish football were quick to praise Morelos for staying true to himself and bringing out a classic performance in what may well end up being his final game for the Ibrox club.
