Man arrested in France amid alleged plot to ‘kidnap Kylian Mbappe’

A man has been arrested in France who is reported by newspaper Le Parisien, to have been accused of being the "mastermind" behind "a series of home invasions and kidnapping plots," that included an alleged plot to reportedly kidnap football superstar Kylian Mbappe.
Le Parisien's report adds: "This gang planned to kidnap and assault business leaders, as well as a rapper and the footballer Kylian Mbappé."
A public prosecutor is reported to have ruled that the individual arrested and charged over the plot should be placed in solitary confinement.
Investigations into the situation are being led by Paris' anti-gang squad (BRB), and have been following the trail of an attempted robbery of a watchmakers shop from April.
The robbery, saw eleven watches stolen, worth as much as €150,000.
This lead authorities to discover two names they believed to be involved with the criminal operations, that of a teenager and that of Clément L.
Clement L was already in police custody, having been held in pretrial detention for the alleged charges of rape and pimping, as well as for another case of organised robbery.
He has reportedly been accused of continuing to issue instructions to others within the alleged crime group from his prison cell, via the Snapchat app.
Le Parisien, citing police sources, provided the following details regarding what was discovered on the man's phone:
"Two phones were seized by prison guards, [where] police discovered twenty-six addresses belonging to singers, footballers, and business owners, all of whom share the distinction of being wealthy.
"He also wanted to target a rapper and the footballer Kylian Mbappé," according to a judicial source, quoted in the report.
The man is now being considered for further charges, including owning the car used in the robbery of the watchmakers, and is now reported to have confessed to being involved in the operations, but stopped short of admitting to being the mastermind.
He is reported to have said: "I know the facts are serious.
"But I’m in solitary confinement, surrounded by lunatics and terrorists, and I don’t think that’s going to make me any better.
"I really want to become a chef; it’s been my dream since I was a little boy."
