So many feels, so many tears
The past year has been difficult for all of us. Between working from home, not being to go out for a pint or enjoy a meal; having to social distance in shops or walking down the street and, most critically, not being able to see our friends and family - lockdown has taken its toll.
However, we continue to keep calm and carry on throughout and there's been no better motivation than knowing if you get through it, you'll be able to give our loved ones a cuddle. In a truly heartwarming video shared on
The Manc's Instagram, one husband and wife got to finally do just that.

As is explained in the Instagram post, Gordon hadn't seen his wife, Mary, in months. She has been living in Baily House Care home throughout lockdown and after too much time apart, Gordon decided to surprise her and move in too. You're a king Gordo, you're an absolute king.
You can see how much of a shock it is for Mary, with both of them overwhelmed with emotion, as they embrace and share their first kiss in months. They are initially chaperoned by the care home workers, but once the pair see each other, they literally sack off their respective canes and walkers and steadied by nothing other than their joy at seeing one another.
It is very easy to feel down during this difficult time and everyone has suffered in their own way, but sights like this remind you how hard other people have had it: especially the elderly, who as part of those considered high risk, have been pretty much isolated from the outside world.
The thought of grandparents being sat indoors with little company is saddening enough, but the thought of them not even having each other around is almost too much to bear - and that's just coming from us, not even those having to go through it.
Nevertheless, nothing lifts your spirits like seeing love persevering. This isn't a necessarily religious space, so why don't we just say we're quoting
