Daily Mail readers infuriated by naming of yesterday’s storm – it’s ‘Ali’

The loony left strikes again

The Daily Mail’s reasonable readers have reacted to the Met Office’s naming of Storm Ali.

I will shock you now, the responses to a conventional weather story by Mark Duell and Brendan McFadden aren’t reasonable.

Under the headline “Double trouble! Storm Helene smashes Scotland and north of England with 80mph gusts… but Storm Ali threatens ‘danger to life’ when it hits UK tomorrow” a report details the weather warnings over Northern Ireland, Scotland, and the north of England.

But that’s not of concern to the Mail Online comment section. No, as pointed out by @DMReporter, they’re infuriated by the storm’s name.

Yearning for the spirit of the Blitz, keeping calm and carrying on, doesn’t appear to apply to weather fronts.
