Innovators in Canada have developed what they’re calling the “ultimate napping solution” – a dog bed for humans that both you and your pooch can enjoy.
Created by university students Noah Silverman and Yuki Kinoshita, the Plufl is a snooze-worthy (in a good way) idea that promises to alleviate stress and anxiety – and if their website is to be believed, “the best nap of your life”.
Made from memory foam, orthopaedic foam and faux-fur for a full-on cosy experience, the Plufl is essentially a giant dog bed but one that humans can enjoy – and after the up and down few years we’ve had to endure, maybe we could all do with one.
As you can see from the team’s Instagram page below, the product looks exactly like you might imagine and has gone through many prototypes and iterations in order to finally land upon a version that’ll be loved by both you and your four legged mate.

“The Plufl is a premium napping bed engineered to provide the optimal napping experience,” explains Silverman and Kinoshita’s website.
“It is created to maximize comfort and foster a sense of security, delivering relief for those who have ADHD, stress, and anxiety-related issues.
“A nap in the Plufl will boost your mood and have you feeling refreshed.”
As the duo explain in a promotional video, this ingenious idea was conceived when they befriended a local coffee shop owner with a large Great Dane as a pet. Struggling to find a bed big enough for her dog to sleep in, the lady had been forced to make her own – leading to Silverman and Kinoshita to think: “Why shouldn’t people have this too?”
Their website continues to explain that “Its features include a thick pillow border for users to tuck their hands and feet into, an orthopedic memory foam that provides ample support, and a soft, luxurious faux fur that is calming to the touch.
“Its oval shape cradles you into a natural fetal sleeping position that will have you sleeping like a baby in no time.”
If all this talk of sleeping on the floor in a giant dog bed has you reaching for a warm milk and your wallet, then you can back the idea on the duo’s Kickstarter and eventually receive one for yourself.
So far, the product has received over $290,657 (£238,475) via 799 backers – with the finished product costing customers around $400 (£328).
