Woman discovers ‘traumatic’ truth about engagement ring after Googling fiancé

The discovery left her in tears

A woman discovered a dark secret about her engagement ring when she did a quick Google on her fiancée, leaving her in tears.

In a post on TikTok, a woman called Hailey (@hreb) revealed what she found when she decided to do an internet search on her hubby – and it wasn’t good.

Instead of just finding some cringey Facebook posts from his school years, she found that he’d left a review for the engagement ring he had given her, showing that the ring had actually been intended for someone else when he purchased it.

In the TikTok, the emotional bride-to-be wrote: “When I randomly decided to Google my fiance’s name on the couch and saw a review written on a jeweller’s website for my engagement ring before we even met.”

The caption for the video reads: “Sadly this is very true.”

At the time of writing, the video has received almost 84,000 likes and has been viewed 1.2 million times.

The majority of those in the comments were supportive of the woman, with most understanding why she found the discovery so upsetting.

One person commented: “It’s the fact that it was originally purchased for a different girl that would tip me over the edge.”

Another said: “A second hand ring? Oh baby no”

Others wrote that they were going to Google their partners. Here’s hoping they don’t find anything as upsetting.

There were a select few who defended the man though, arguing that a “ring is a ring” and “still expensive.” One person labelled the woman as “super entitled.”

However they were quickly told that they were missing the point, and that it wouldn’t have been too difficult for the man to have sold the ring and bought a new one with the money.
