Sheffield United fans have been left fearing the worst after Iliman Ndiaye's wife appeared to confirm his departure from the club on Facebook Marketplace.
In a post to the popular buying and selling page, fans of the Premier League side noticed their forward's other half, Iona, advertising a number of items up for sale due to moving and Blades supporters fear it is because he is leaving the club.
"Finding out your star player is leaving via the Facebook marketplace is the most Sheffield United thing ever ffs," said one fan.
"Off to buy the lot, so I can kidnap him," joked another.
Others felt more reassuring and claimed that they may just be moving to another house in the local area as oppose to a new club.
Ndiaye has been linked with a move to Ligue 1 giants - the club where he began his career.
He was at the club's youth academy as a child and has now been linked with a return ahead of the club's Champions League campaign following their third-placed finish last season.
The Senegal forward was instrumental in Sheffield United's instant return to the top flight, scoring 14 goals for Paul Heckingbottom's men to finish in second place behind champions Burnley.
