Sharon Osbourne revealed that she is "done" with the music industry after her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, performed a final gig with his band, Black Sabbath.
Metal band Black Sabbath, consisting of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, performed a final farewell gig at Villa Park in their home city of Birmingham.
The lead singer, Ozzy, who revealed back in 2020 that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, performed from a black winged throne on Saturday (5 July).
The concert, titled Back to the Beginning, featured several supporting artists, including Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Slayer, and Tool.
Sharon Osbourne has said that she is now ready to step back from the industry following the iconic farewell show.
Sharon (72) met Ozzy (76) when her father was managing Black Sabbath. She later took the manager role upon herself, managing Ozzy when he pursued his solo career.
"I've been doing this since I was 15, and I'm done," Sharon told Billboard.
"We just want to live our life and do what we want to do and not have to follow an itinerary any more."
She continued that her husband, Ozzy, wanted the opportunity to say goodbye to his fans in good taste before retiring the mic for good.
"He kept saying, 'It’s my one regret,' and 'I want a chance to really say thank you,'" she said.
"And this is what we thought would be the best way to do it. It’s a celebration of Ozzy and Sabbath and the music."
Sharon added that a band had been "disinvited" from performing at the gig as "they wanted to make a profit, and it’s not the time to make a profit".
She also made sure to include that she would reveal the group's identity following the concert, and that people would "be shocked" by the reveal.
Back to the Beginning was hosted by actor Jason Momoa and Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello as musical director.
