Justice for Ollie Tutt

A Sainsbury’s delivery driver has claimed that he was fired for swearing in a social media video where he praised the company and said, “I get looked after.”

Ollie Tutt, 19, posted a TikTok video on March 24 about his Sainsbury’s job, largely applauding how easy it is for such good pay. The post received an impressive 3.8m views and over 400k likes.

“If you want an easy job, just go and work at Tesco, Sainsbury and do this delivering s**t,” the East-Sussex resident told his followers. “It is possibly the easiest job I’ve ever had, the best paying job I’ve ever had and I get looked after.”‘

He continued: “I don’t do much, I just sit on the side of the road waiting to do these drops.

“All the customers are f*****g lovely and haven’t had an occasion where they have been an a******e.”

While most of his statements were positive, Tutt did warn that working in the store is “s**t and boring.”

However just days after going viral, Tutt’s manager saw the video – and he was not happy.

“That video got a lot more attention than I thought it would and caused a bit of a problem,” Tutt updated fans. “My manager told me that the store manager didn’t really mind but because I swore in that video it’s kind of bad for the company.”

While Tutt did acknowledge that “it doesn’t look really good on them”, a chat with management left him jobless. He was sacked under allegations of gross misconduct, disrepute and not caring enough.

Updating his followers on Sunday April 3, he said: “Yep I got sacked and now I am worried about how I am going to pay my rent in a week.

“It’s not a big deal, like they are a multi-billion pound company and they care about a single video.

“Yep you were all right about me losing my job, go f**k yourself. Now I am going to apply for new jobs.”

A spokesperson for the supermarket told The Mirror: “We are unable to discuss individual colleague cases.

“Any decision to review a colleague’s employment is not taken lightly and based on a range of factors.”
