In case you've been living under a rock, it's been a rough few months for the Royal Family.
From Charles' cancer diagnosis to the recent hysteria surrounding Kate Middleton's whereabouts, social media has been whipped into a frenzy after claims that the BBC has been primed to expect a 'major announcement within the next 72 hours' emerged on Twitter over the weekend.
It's understandable considering the level of interest in the Princess' condition, particularly following Kate's apology for photoshopping the Mother's Day photo released by Kensington Palace.
“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing,” she wrote in a statement.
“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.
“I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”
The image led to huge backlash online, with international news agencies issuing a 'kill notice' for the photo, meaning that they had deemed it untrustworthy and had been manipulated.
However, the Princess has since been reportedly spotted out and about alongside William at The Windsor Farm Shop, per a source from The Sun.
Social media doesn't seem to be satisfied, though, with 'Royal Announcement' remaining trending on Twitter, and many people speculating as to what could be revealed.
The rumours of an announcement appear to be just that, though - rumours.
Various figures from within the BBC have spoken out to confirm that they are unaware of any impending announcement from the Royal Family.
"I have not heard a thing from anyone," BBC radio presenter Scott Bryan confirmed on his Twitter, adding that he thinks it's "classic fake stuff."
Jay Rayner, who works on BBC's Masterchef, tweeted similarly: "It’s not true. (I checked)."
