This might be the biggest clue so far

Rockstar Games' owner, Take-Two Interactive, has released their annual earnings call, and they're predicting a huge year for the company for the 2025 fiscal year, which starts in April 2024.

Take-Two has set itself a bookings goal of $8bn for the next fiscal year, well above their record-breaking figure of $5.3bn which they set this past year, Gamespot report.

Basically, they reckon something is going to happen that is will make them an unprecedented amount of money.

The press release reads: "Looking ahead, fiscal 2025 is a highly anticipated year for our company. For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success.

"In fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in net bookings and over $1 billion in adjusted unrestricted operating cash flow.

"We expect to sustain this momentum by delivering even higher levels of operating results in Fiscal 2026 and beyond."

So, this would seem to suggest that the company is planning for a major release that will make them a huge amount of money.

Although the company doesn't actually name GTA VI itself as the reason for these sky-high predictions, the game is without doubt the only product in the company's locker that could deliver this level of profitability.

The most recent game in the franchise, GTA V, became the fastest-selling entertainment product in history and made $1bn in its first three days when it was released in 2013.

After more than a decade of waiting and the hype around GTA 6, you wouldn't bet against it beating its predecessor.

GTA VI is one of the most-eagerly anticipated games probably in history, and the internet has been awash with rumours around its development and release.

Previous reports have also hinted at a 2024 release for the game, but have added that caveat that this could easily end up being delayed to 2025 or even 2026.

There is still no official word from Rockstar about when GTA 6 may hit shelves. The most they have said is a tweet in February 2022 announcing that “active development for the next entry in the series is underway”.

This came after hackers leaked Graft Theft Auto VI content, in one of the biggest confidential data breaches in gaming history.

The leak revealed development footage and source code, along with more than 90 videos and images of the long-awaited follow up were leaked, in an intrusion which Rockstar Games described as “extremely disappointing”.

A statement from Rockstar Games at the time confirmed an unauthorized third party had illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from its systems, including GTA footage.

The team said they will “properly” introduce them to GTA 6 when it is read,
