David Cameron and Ed Miliband faced a TV grilling on Thursday evening in the Battle for Number 10 election debates hosted by Channel 4 and Sky News.

The Prime Minister said he wants an economy "that does not just look good on the page", but tried to sit on the fence when asked about Jeremy Clarkson's BBC exit, telling interviewer Jeremy Paxman: "He's a friend, he's a talent. The BBC have made their decision and it's right for them."
