All Hilal’s offer is a world-record bid

Paris Saint-Germain have accepted Al Hilal’s world-record bid of £259m for Kylian Mbappé.

Mbappé’s future is hot conversation at the moment with the Frenchman confirming he will not extend his deal at Paris Saint-Germain – which expires next summer – but currently has no plans to leave until the end of the 2023/2024 campaign.

Some reports have claimed that as part of the deal, Mbappé has been offered the chance to play in Saudi Arabia for just one season – at which point, he will be free to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2024.

PSG themselves believe that the Frenchman already has an agreement in place with Madrid. The Saudi side would also pay the striker a reported salary of €700m for a single season with the club.

The World Cup winner is now free to speak to the Saudi Pro League side, but it remains to be seen if he will accept their terms.

According to the BBC, PSG could allow Mbappé to leave on loan. Simon Stone tweeted: “PSG are open to the idea of Kylian Mbappé leaving on loan this summer to see out the final year of his contract elsewhere. This would allow Mbappé to join Real Madrid for nothing in 12 months’ time, keep him playing this season and generate a loan fee for PSG.”

Madrid are looking for a new long-term striker after Karim Benzema’s departure at the end of last season.

A number of other clubs such as Barcelona, Chelsea and Tottenham are said to have registered their interest but Manchester United are not one of those, with their focus on Rasmus Hojlund and potentially, Harry Kane.
