‘OMG JUST FASTEN THE BELT! why it is so hard’

A pilot was forced to abort a landing after passengers in the cabin refused to buckle up.

Footage uploaded by TikToker Audi Khalid shows the captain of Scoot airline flight TR285 flying from Bali to Singapore turn the plane around for another approach after several people refused to wear seatbelts.

The pilot also said that he is “legally not able to land an aircraft if the cabin isn’t secured”.

He added: “We are now turning around again for another approach, and if we have to do another missed approach for the same reason, the airport police will be involved and they will take the necessary action.”

You then see multiple officers walk on the aircraft and walk down the aisle to speak to a few individuals.

Once the TikToker is off the plane, he films footage of a couple of passengers being questioned by the police.

One person added: “Why on earth would anyone refuse to fasten their seat belt? Seriously!!!!??”

A second added: “OMG JUST FASTEN THE BELT! why it is so hard.”

A Scoot spokesperson has provided a statement the Singaporean news website Must Share News.

“The flight landed safely on the second approach at Changi Airport without further incident, and the involved passengers were escorted off the aircraft by airport authorities for further investigation.”

It read: “Due to unruly behaviour by a group of passengers, including the refusal to fasten seatbelts during descent, our Captain discontinued the approach into Singapore in the interest of flight safety.
