New York Times columnist Lucas Peterson was travelling from Chicago to Milwaukee when the bus he was travelling broke down.
Peterson says the driver explained to passengers that there was a flat tyre, and there was no need to worry. But just a few minutes later those on board noticed some smoke coming out of the bus.
Passengers tried to grab their luggage but had to leave them behind once flame started billowing from the vehicle.
