American actor Morgan Freeman has slammed US President Donald Trump in a new interview, condemning him as a “felon”.
Freeman, 88, appeared on MS NOW where he didn’t hold back in his condemnation of Trump during the interview.
The Shawshank Redemption and Se7en star said that Trump is “leading us down a s**t hole”.
The actor also drew attention to Trump’s 34 felony convictions for falsifying business records, including payments made to an adult film star.
Trump is appealing his conviction, while he was given an unconditional discharge over the felonies.
This means that he wouldn't face any prison time or fines for the offences.
“We have somebody sitting in the White House who's leading us down a s**t hole. I can't personally understand how a convicted felon, convicted, 34 felonies, counts of wrongdoing, gets to be president. How do you do that? It just doesn't make sense to me”, the veteran actor said.
“I’m constantly reminded of Germany in 1935”, Freeman said, as he made a strong comparison between Trump's immigration crackdown with Germany in 1935.
Freeman also went on to urge people who are concerned about the future of the US to take action.
“I don’t know what I would say to young people, other than, if you are at all aware of where we’re headed, where we are right now and where we’re headed. And if you don’t agree with it, there was one sure way to change the direction of our country: vote”, he concluded.
