Kim Jong-un claims North Korea has developed a hydrogen bomb

Simon Lloyd

North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un has announced that his country have developed a hydrogen bomb – a device more powerful than an atomic bomb.

But the dictator’s claims aren’t convincing everyone. Many doubt that North Korea has the know-how or financial capability to pull off such a feat.

He made the announcement on a tour of the Phyongchon Revolutionary Site, which marks the achievements of his father and grandfather.

According to the Daily Mail, Jong praised his grandfather for making North Korea “into a powerful nuclear weapons state” and claimed that the nation is now “ready” to to detonate a self-reliant A-bomb and H-bomb in order to defend its sovereignty and the dignity.

South Korean intelligence has told Yonhap news agency that there’s no evidence that their neighbours have the capacity to manufacture a hydrogen bomb.
