Kieran Trippier is expected to start at right wing back ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold in England's quarter-final clash against Switzerland.
This comes as Gareth Southgate changes his formation to a three back to accommodate for missing the suspended Marc Guehi and give more defensive protection against a tough Swiss team.
Trippier had played the first four games of the tournament in left back, although England finished their round of 16 tie with Slovakia with Bukayo Saka at left wing back.
This is even more relevant now as Saka is set to reprise his position at left wing back as Southgate continues to reshuffle his players.
The left-footed Saka did play academy football at left back, however it is not a position he has often played since, although his attacking flare and quality will make him a scary prospect to defend.
Luke Shaw has been a frustration for many England fans, with the Manchester United left back struggling to get match fit for the Euros, and, although Southgate has said he is fit for today's match he will only feature off the bench.
The three back that is expected to consist of Stones, Konsa and Walker has done one favour for Gareth Southgate which is to free up the midfield which will allow both Bellingham and Foden to roam in central midfield positions.
This comes as many Three Lions fans were growing frustrated with Foden's deployment on the left wing for England, a position not favoured by the forward.
Rice and Mainoo will sit in front of the three midfielders while Kane will of course be the lone striker in what will look like a 3-4-2-1 formation.
The change may also be result of an attempt to neutralise the Swiss threat, who have become very adept with the three/five back system which has given the team great discipline and solidity, while also allow their quality to shine.
The match will be an interesting contest of tactics and mental fortitude with goals are unlikely to be expected in a game that could see two teams cancel each other out.
Except for the latter stages of the Slovakia game, fans will be hoping for a slightly more entertaining affair than what the last four England games have delivered.
England take on Switzerland this afternoon at 5pm on BBC One.
