Trump could face severe punishment if found guilty of violating the Espionage Act
The FBI are said to have been looking for “classified nuclear documents” when raiding Donald Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago resort earlier this week, according to a new report.
Following the Monday’s raid on Mar-a-Lago, Trump and his remaining Republican followers launched a raft of criticism on the bureau, with the US Attorney General Merrick Garland revealing the Department of Justice (DOJ) has now asked a federal judge in Florida to make the search warrant public domain.
In a statement on the search, Trump said the US is now 'corrupt at a level not seen before'https://t.co/jZF5uaanoR

Now, according to sources relaying information to The Washington Post, it is believed the reasoning behind the raid was to locate potentially sensitive and “classified nuclear documents” that Trump is thought to have taken back to the property during his time in office.
The 76-year-old has since issued a response calling the move “unAmerican, unwarranted and unnecessary”, as well as demanding that documents be immediately released back into his possession.

The Post explained that “experts in classified information said the unusual search underscores deep concern among government officials about the types of information they thought could be located at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club and potentially in danger of falling into the wrong hands”.
As for the apparent nuclear nature of the documents supposedly stored at the resort, it is unclear whether the information pertains to weapons, specifically, and whether or not the intel revolves around US or other countries.
While many Republicans and Trump loyalists, including his son Eric, were quick to defend the former president – stating that the raid was nothing more than a stunt designed to “embarrass” and distract from President Biden’s “floundering in the polls” it seems there were clear ground for a thorough search.
Furthermore, on Thursday morning a man was shot dead after trying to breach the FBI’s Cincinnati Field Office while armed and dressed in body armour. While it remains unclear whether this was in response to the Mar-a-Lago raid, the individual – identified as 42-year-old Ricky Shiffer – is now being investigated in connection with right-wing extremists like the Proud Boys.
Some radicalized rightwinger showed up at the FBI today to kill agents because the conservative ecosystem decided to pretend that Biden was weaponizing the Justice Department against Trump… and all the while, Trump was in possession of stolen nuclear documents.

Despite opposition from Trump and co., should the search warrant be unsealed, it would allow the general public to see exactly what the FBI were looking for, as well as anything they may have found as part of the investigation.
Should he be proved to have been illegally in possession of alleged documents, the DOJ will have no choice but to punish him for the improper removal of nuclear-related documents under the Espionage Act of 1917.
