The Sun report that moves have been made by makers of the game to remove Johnson - but have failed to completely wipe him from the system.
EA Games issues a weekly software update to reflect transfers and players' real life performances on the game.
But Johnson is still yet to be totally deleted from the gme which has sold more than 2.5m copies in the UK.
“Johnson should be removed from FIFA 16," Gabrielle Shaw, CEO of National Association for People Abused in Childhood, said.
“This game is played by millions of children a day, so EA games has a responsibility to act.
“Johnson was chosen for his appeal to children and his hero status and he has wrecked both himself.”
