The footage shows the man donning latex gloves just before the attack that happened at around 11:30 pm on March 18. According to police, the attack happened on West 123rd Street between Lenox Avenue and Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard.
"He was walking right behind her when you see him putting the gloves on in the video," a police source said. "He pounced on her right after that."
The woman was kicked numerous times in the head and body, as well as "curb stomping" her. She was treated for severe head trauma at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem.

The man is described as a male in his 40s with a dark complexion, stocky build and standing at around 5 "8. He was last seen wearing a dark green baseball hat, black face mask, blank pants, black shoes, blue latex gloves and a white hooded sweatshirt with a pattern design.
Anyone with information has been urged to contact the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Witnesses can also submit tips via the CrimeStoppers website.
