Bride and caterer arrested after guests get sick off ‘drug-laced’ wedding food, cops say

Police took chocolate-covered strawberries and lasagne to be tested

A Florida bride and her wedding caterer were arrested this week for allegedly lacing food with marijuana at a wedding which took place last year. Bride Danya Glenny and caterer Joyceyln Bryant were arrested on Monday and both face the same charges of tampering, culpable negligence and delivery of marijuana, Fox35 Orlando reports. Police responded to The Springs Clubhouse in Longwood, a city in Florida, after a wedding guest reportedly began "feeling weird". The guest told deputies that he felt like he "had drugs inside him" even though he had only eaten food and drank wine. [caption id="attachment_331185" align="alignnone" width="728"] Joycelyn Bryant[/caption] Emergency services rushed to the scene and treated multiple people who were suffering with stomach pains and vomiting. A female guests reportedly told officials that the food was laced with marijuana. Another guest said they felt "ill and high", according to the report, and that he wanted to press charges against the people who were responsible. The ill guests were then taken to South Seminole Hospital where they were treated. The bride stared at the deputy, before saying no, the police report stated. Officers then tried to locate the catering manager but staff had already left. Police collected samples of glassware and food to be tested, including chocolate-covered strawberries, pudding ‘shot’ desserts and lasagne. Related links:
