Despite the fact that the worst effects of Storm Elanor have passed, temperatures are set to plummet this weekend with heavy rain and gale-force winds approaching. In fact, in parts of Scotland, the temperature is expected set to drop as low as -10C on Saturday night. Keep warm because of 6C in northern England and -3C in the south. At present, there's a yellow weather warning in place for the following areas; Central, Tayside & Fife, Grampian, Highlands & Eilean Siar, North East England, Orkney & Shetland, SW Scotland, Lothian Borders, Strathclyde. The warning is in effect from Fri 17:00 and Sat 10:00 and the Met Office warn that: "Icy patches are expected to develop during the evening and overnight, most likely on untreated roads, pavements, and cycle paths. There is a chance that injuries could occur from slips and falls on icy surfaces."
