Netflix killed the TV star.

According to Barb Report, which measures telly viewing patterns and ratings, more than a million households in the UK no longer own a television. I bet they know who Steven Avery is though. Last year, 4.7% of homes – roughly 1.3 million households – were without TVs. The survey suggests a rise in Netflix and other online streaming services is largely responsible for the dramatic change. Today nearly a quarter of British homes subscribe to Netflix, Amazon, or a different service. A direct quote from the report reads:
“One theory is that non-TV households are online pioneers who are keen on TV, but prefer to use computer devices to access it." 
However, figures suggest that those households without a TV are generally less interested in TV as a medium: they have a lower level of broadband take-up, and they are significantly less likely to own a PC or a tablet device.
