David Beckham has succeeded in most of his endeavours, but this may be his most important and ambitious challenge yet.
The former England captain spoke with eloquence and conviction in his role of UNICEF Ambassador about children around the world suffering from the effects of violence and poverty.
Beckham was speaking at a UN event in New York, and called upon the world's leaders to put the safety and protection of children at the forefront of their thoughts.
He also spoke about his own philanthropic initiative called the 7 fund, which seeks to make a serious commitment to helping the most vulnerable children in the world.
It's great to see an celebrity of Beckham's influence and standing get behind such a worthy cause.
