16-year-old boy stabbed in broad daylight outside tube station
He was taken by air ambulance to hospital in a serious condition
A teenager has been stabbed outside an east London tube station during rush hour.
Police were called to Dagenham Heathway Station at 5.20pm on Tuesday September 18 to find a 16-year-old boy with stab injuries.
Avoid the Heathway people! Been a stabbing.
He was taken to hospital by air ambulance in a serious condition.
Barking & Dagenham Police tweeted: "Police are currently dealing with a serious assault on the Heathway, Dagenham.
"The male has been taken to an east London hospital by London Ambulance Service for treatment. Police cordons and a crime scene has been implemented."
In a later statement the force confirmed the boy's injuries were not life-threatening or changing.
The road, the Heathway, was closed in both directions and bus services diverted away from the incident.
Police said no arrests had been made at this stage.
