Tributes have been pouring in for the late DJ

Renowned Scottish DJ and record producer Jamie Roy has died at the age of 33. Roy's family took to social media to confirm the news on Wednesday. https://www.instagram.com/p/ChzykodsKKy/ Posting on Facebook, the family said: "Jamie passed away yesterday. "Jamie was a much loved and talented son, brother, nephew and uncle and loved by his many friends and colleagues both within the music industry and beyond that. "We are all absolutely heartbroken." The cause of his death is currently unknown. Roy had a huge fanbase in Ibiza, where he played at the likes of Pacha and Amnesia, amongst other famous clubs. His tracks were also often played on BBC Radio 1. https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch__9A_gE6q/ It was only in June that Roy performed at Glastonbury Festival - touring the world to perform at festivals in Albania, Croatia and Costa Rica. Tributes have already started pouring in for the late DJ, Defected Records stating that its staff were "devastated" by the news.

"A great producer, DJ, and friend to so many within our industry. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends. Shine bright, Jamie," the company added.

A fan described it as a "very sad day for dance music" following the news of Roy's death, adding: "Rest in peace Jamie Roy your energy will be missed! Our thoughts go out to his family and friends."
