Whether you're a fan of McDonald's food or not, there's little chance that you've managed to make it to this stage in your life without knowing what a Big Mac is.

Introduced in a Pittsburgh restaurant in 1967, the burger has become one of (probably the) best-selling burgers at the fast-food chain and an ever-present on their menus. Michael "Jim" Delligatti, the man who invented the Big Mac, died at his home in Pittsburgh earlier this week. He was 98 years of age.
