The cooling technology that could save your summer sleep

Getting to sleep during a heatwave is no easy task, especially when your bedroom starts feeling more like a sauna than a place to rest. With temperatures rising across the UK, Simba has launched a new, affordable cooling technology aimed at making hot nights a little more manageable.

The brand’s HeatRelease™ technology, which is exclusive to Simba in the UK, has been designed specifically for warmer conditions. It combines precision graphite cooling strips with graphite-infused Simbatex® foam and Simba’s breathable spring system to help move excess heat away from the body while you sleep.

Simba says the technology can help keep sleepers up to 4.4°C cooler and maintain a comfortable sleeping temperature for up to eight hours. It is also designed to start drawing heat away within around 20 minutes, meaning you may not have to spend the first part of the night constantly flipping the pillow or wondering why you are still awake.

"Cooling has become one of the biggest priorities in sleep innovation... HeatRelease™ combines advanced thermal engineering with our latest sleep technology to draw excess body heat away from the sleeper, helping people stay cooler and sleep more comfortably, even during Britain's hottest nights."

- Simba CEO Steve Reid

So, while no mattress can make a heatwave disappear, Simba’s latest innovation could make those warmer nights considerably more comfortable.

There’s more than one way to upgrade your sleep this summer

If you want to try out HeatRelease™, there are a few Simba mattresses to choose from, depending on how much you want to spend and the type of support you prefer.

The technology is built into Simba’s top-of-the-range Hybrid® Ultra, so there is no need to pay extra for the cooling feature.

The mattress brings together the brand’s biggest collection of sleep technology, including its Aerocoil® microsprings, graphite-infused Simbatex® foam, PureLift™ comfort layer, Stratos® cool-touch cover, FusionCool™ layer and SupportCore™ springs. Prices range from £1,749 for a Single to £2,999 for a Super King.

For a different option, HeatRelease™ can be added to the Hybrid® Luxe, which is designed with a softer, more luxurious feel. It includes Aerocoil® microsprings, graphite-infused Simbatex® foam, bamboo-infused wool and Steel SupportCore™ springs. A Double starts at £1,998 with the cooling upgrade.

The Hybrid® Pro is another option, combining Aerocoil® technology with graphite-infused Simbatex® foam. HeatRelease™ can also be added here, with Double mattresses starting at £1,498 including the upgrade.

A new mattress is also certainly not an impulse buy, so it helps to know you have some time to decide if you have made the right choice. Simba’s 200-night trial gives you plenty of time to put it through its paces at home, and work out whether you have finally found a mattress worth ditching your old one for.

You can check out Simba’s exclusive HeatRelease™ technology here and see if it could make those hot nights a little more bearable.
