November 5 each year marks the anniversary of the Gun Powder Plot, and naturally, we Brit's celebrate the occasion by shooting off colourful sky bombs, waving setting sparkly sticks in the air, and creating enormous fires for everyone to gather around- we're a strange bunch really.
But should a firework reach the skyline at the wrong time, you could be slapped with a hefty £5,000 fine or even prison. Though consumer fireworks are legal in the UK, there are specific times you can set them off. Tonight, that being November 5, you can spark your fireworks up to midnight. But over the weekend, where arguably the most celebrations will take place, events will have to stick to the usually designated time frames. From tomorrow, you cannot release pyrotechnics after 11 pm, or you might be slapped with a fine.Explore more on these topics:
