The top 10 countries with the highest percentage of bald men in the world have been revealed - and they all share something in common.
Balding is a complex matter. Some people dread it, others run from it while many embrace it - often they have little choice.
Before we get into the top 10, it's worth giving a few honourable mentions, notably the UK who come in 12th place with 40.09% of males having pattern baldness while Ireland placed 16th with 38.65%.
Maybe surprisingly on the list, Turkey placed 13th with 40.03% of its male population having pattern baldness - talk about friendly fire.
Norway squeeze into the top 10 here at 40.75%. Famous bald Norwegians include actor, director, and screenwriter Aksel Hennie.

Coming in at 9th spot, the Aussies just top Norway with 40.8% of males having pattern baldness.
The Australians have plenty of bald names to pick from, but Aaron Mooy might just be the best of the bunch.
A solid placing for the central Europeans, the Czechs have a male pattern baldness rate of 40.9%.
While not technically bald, Czech warrior-priest from the 14th century Prokop the Great did go by the moniker of Prokop the Bald, and that's enough for me.
The margins remain tight as Canada take 7th with 40.94%.
Notable bald Canadians include comedian, television personality and actor, Howie Mandel.
Back to Europe for Croatia as they come in 6th with a 41.32% pattern baldness rate.
While it's hard to pin down a particularly famous bald Croatian, John Malkovich does have Croatian citizenship via his grandparents.

Germany take 5th spot as we enter the business end of things.
The Germans have a male pattern baldness rate of 41.51%.
The most prominent bald German currently is probably their Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
This one comes as no surprise. Most of the world's most famous bald people are of course American.
Think the Rock, Vin Diesel, Bruce Willis - they have the cultural monopoly and have done wonders for the bald community.
America has male pattern baldness rate of 42.68%.
In bronze medal place, the French leap up by almost two per cent on the Americans with a 44.25% rate.
Zinedine Zidane and his headbutt against Italy in the 2006 World Cup is about as iconic it gets.

Europe continues to dominate as the Italians take silver spot with 44.37% of males having pattern baldness.
Staying in the world of sport, Pierluigi Collina is one of the most iconic bald people in recent history, even making it on the cover of PES 3.
Top of the pile and staying in Southern Europe, Spain take the number one spot.
The Spanish have a male pattern baldness rate of 44.5%, more than any other nation in the world that had data collected.
The most famous Spaniard for this list? Of course, the bald genius Pep Guardiola.

If you were still wondering what these countries have in common, it's that they are all either European, or have lots of European ancestry.
However, it is worth noting that the World Population Survey doesn't count every country in the world, with many in Africa, Eastern Europe and South America not having data provided.
We couldn't possibly provide the top 10 without giving the name of the least bald country on this list.
Out of all the nations with data provided for this list, Indonesia came in bottom place with a male pattern baldness rate of just 26.96%.
Use this information how you desire.

While we can't do anything to help with this issue, we can do the next best thing and rank the places in the world with the highest percentage of bald people thanks to data from the World Population Review.
