Sounds simple enough!

The NHS is set to reward people for walking 30 minutes a day.

As per the BBC, NHS England is set launch a scheme which will be called "marathon a month" and will ask people to walk for around half-an-hour daily.

For those who do it everyday, they should hit roughly 26 miles per month which is the distance of a marathon.

While details are still uncertain around the scheme, it is thought rewards could include incentives and discounts.

Users will be able to log their walks online, or through their phone or smartwatch.

The scheme taps into a culture which already exists of recording exercise as well as creating daily "streaks", doing an action on a daily, consecutive basis.

It is being developed alongside former Olympic medallist and long-distance runner Sir Brendan Foster who is also the founder of the Great North Run, and is part of the 10-year health plan for England.

Physical inactivity is associated with one in six deaths, according to NHS England.

The aim is to sign up more than 100,000 people, with daily stats recorded digitally.
