The Nintendo Switch 2 is coming soon
The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to be revealed this week, with many fans wanting to know how much it will cost.
The Japanese gaming brand previously confirmed that it would unveil the Nintendo Switch 2 before April 2025, with lots of theories that it’ll be this month.
Fans believed we had the first glimpse of the Nintendo Switch 2 last week when accessories producer Genki unveiled a supposed Switch 2 case at the CES convention.
However Nintendo responded to this in a statement, saying: “The gaming hardware that Genki is claiming to be Nintendo hardware at CES is unofficial and was not provided to the company by Nintendo.”
Although this is a little disappointing we do have some leaks about the pricing and pre-order details for the Nintendo Switch 2.
How much will the Nintendo Switch 2 cost?
The original Nintendo Switch launched at £279.99, while the OLED edition started at £309.99, so it’s likely that the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will be at a higher price mark than both of those.
This latest news comes from someone who supposedly works at French retailer Micromania, with the information shared by X/Twitter user Switch2Stock.
They claim that the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 will be €399, which thanks to inflation and the Switch’s huge popularity would make sense.
Other intel suggests that there will be 25 games ready to launch alongside the release, with games costing between €69 and €79 each.
The employee also teased that there will be a limited edition bundle released, with an exclusive game that could be the much-anticipated Mario Kart 9.
When can I pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2?
There’s plenty of rumours that the Nintendo Switch 2 will officially be unveiled this week by Nintendo.
Once the console is announced by the tech company it’s likely that it will be available to pre-order from the likes of Amazon, GAME and Currys.
The insider intel says that pre-orders are coming “really soon”, so keep an eye out as demand is expected to be high.
Can I still get the original Nintendo Switch?
If you’re not too bothered about the latest model and are hoping that the prices of the original Nintendo Switch and the OLED model are going to drop following the new release then that’s also a possibility.
Currently the Nintendo Switch is priced at £247, which is about £33 cheaper than its launch price, while the OLED is £270, which is just under £40 cheaper than its launch price.
They’ll both be ones to watch following the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 as you might be able to get some deals, including bundles featuring a game.
