Goodfella’s is launching a falafel pizza and best of all it’s vegan

James Dawson

Know somebody who would get stuck into one of these?

Goodfella’s has announced that it is releasing the first mainstream frozen vegan pizza – and the price isn’t half bad either.

It’s a classic stonebaked pizza topped with falafel, red peppers, spinach, white onion, spicy harissa sauce, and houmus drizzle. Which sounds absolutely delicious, if I don’t say so myself.

It won’t hit supermarkets until March, but the good news is that can be yours for just £2.50, a decent price when you consider how expensive some vegan food can get.

A spokesman for Goodfella’s told The Independent that the company was “meeting the demand of a huge number of people in the UK who don’t want to eat animal products”.

The spokesman said the pizza is “really delicious”, adding: “We think this new pizza will appeal to all pizza-lovers”.

And Dominika Piasecka, of The Vegan Society, said: “We were delighted to register Goodfella’s vegan pizza with our vegan trademark.

“As more customers learn about the ethical, environmental and health benefits of the vegan lifestyle, many businesses have been reacting positively by introducing vegan choices.

“The news has already received positive feedback from vegans on social media and everyone is really excited about the pizza hitting the shops.”
