Cadbury lovers declare ‘Christmas is cancelled’ after brand axes festive treat

Fans have been left devastated

Chocolate lovers have been left heartbroken after finding out Cadbury has axed one of its popular festive treats this Christmas.

We all know Christmas is the best time of the year for food, and one thing plenty of you will be getting through is chocolate.

Whether it’s in advent calendars, selection boxes or tubs, we’ll be demolishing kilos of chocolate at all times of day.

But there’s one chocolate product that it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing on shelves this year.

Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Daim Little Robins have been discontinued by the chocolate brand this year, leaving some chocoholics heartbroken.

The treats come in the form of individually wrapped milk chocolate pieces with an almond and caramel filling.

As delicious as these sound, there clearly wasn’t sufficient demand for Cadbury’s to continue making them this year.

Some sweet-toothed fans have taken to social media to share their devastation at the treats being scrapped.

One person wrote on X last month: “It’s now November 23 and it doesn’t look like Cadbury are doing the wee daim robins this year.

“Sorry to say, but it looks like Christmas is cancelled.”

Another penned: “I am literally searching the net on this because I can’t find them anywhere.

“I have found on a few random social media pages that they have been discontinued but I can’t find anything official by Cadbury.”

In a statement to the Sun, Mondelēz, Cadbury’s parent company, confirmed the product had been discontinued.

They said: “We’re always adapting our Christmas range to make sure that it reflects changing consumer tastebuds, and there is a range of options available to enjoy.

“In line with this, the Cadbury Dairy Milk Daim Little Robins Bag (77g) is no longer available, but we have plenty of other delicious options for consumers to choose from in our 2024 festive line-up, including the Cadbury Dairy Milk Robins (77g) as well as our beloved Christmas classics and some exciting new festive treats.”

There are still plenty of tasty Cadbury’s products to be enjoyed this Christmas though, making the perfect stocking filler or even just a little self-gift.

This year, the chocolate giant has launched a special Cadbury 200 Years Selection box. Packed with a variety of irresistible chocolate bars from vintage classics, like the recently re-launched Top Deck, to modern favourites like Cadbury Caramel, it’s the ultimate indulgence box for snacking, sharing and reminiscing during the Christmas season.

The 200 Anniversary selection box features some classics from the past.

For the nougat fans out there, the Cadbury’s Tiny Toblerone packs are back, whilst their Mini Puds are returning again, making the perfect stocking-filler or after-dinner treat.

These mini puds make the perfect stocking filler at £1.98.

Meanwhile, mint lovers can enjoy a Cadbury Dairy Milk Mint Crisp, and fans of the classic can treat themselves to a Cadbury’s Favourites Selection Box featuring iconic treats like Dairy Milk Buttons, Twirl, and more.

The Cadbury Favourites Selection, which retails at £6.49
The Mint Crisp bar is the perfect treat for mint lovers, costing £5.

You can find all these treats and more at the Cadbury website here.
