Watch Justin Bieber punch young fan in the face as he arrives at Barcelona gig

Probably not the way to treat your fans...

Simon Lloyd

Let this be a lesson to us all.

If ever we find ourselves within yards of Justin Bieber’s chauffeur-driven car, we must resist the urge to reach into the vehicle through its wound-down window and touch the Canadian popstar. If we don’t, we can expect a bloodied lip.

That’s exactly what happened to one of Bieber’s Spanish fans as the singer made his way to his gig in Barcelona.

As his car approaches the Palau Sant Jordi arena, the fan can be seen reaching in to touch the 22-year-old.

Clearly, he gets a little too close for comfort, and Bieber responds by mashing the skin on his lips back against his teeth with his left fist… Probably not the kind of souvenir the fan had in mind.

As you’d expect, the fan – who is believed to be a minor – was a little surprised by Bieber’s reaction.

He can be seen touching his mouth with his hands following the incident, then shows his concerned fans that the punch was enough to draw blood.

“He has just punched me,” he explains in Spanish to those around him.

“I touched his face like this and he went, ‘Boom’.”

Fortunately for Bieber, it appears he’s escaped further punishment with the police for smacking the fan in the mouth. Reports claim that the fan was unsure over whether to report the incident to the regional Mossos d’Esquadra officers who turned up after the incident.

As reported by The Mirror, a spokesperson for the Mossos d’Esquadra confirmed: “What’s occurred here is what would be considered a misdemeanour rather than a crime.

“For a crime of assault to have occurred, the victim would have needed medical attention more than once.

“The footage shows there’s been no sustained attack.

“As we’re talking about a misdemeanour rather than a serious crime, we haven’t got the power to act off our own backs and so we’re not actively investigating this.”

Suppose you’re expecting us to crowbar an ‘Is it too late now to say sorry’ reference in, aren’t you? It’s not happening.
