The ball is out of his feet and Steven Gerrard’s right foot is locked and loaded.
Of course he’s going to attempt to rifle it into the top corner, right?
Wrong.
Gerrard swapped his career as a net-buster for a new one as a dummy salesman during LA Galaxy’s 5-2 victory over Real Salt Lake on Saturday night.
The former Liverpool midfielder rounded out the scoring in the 91st minute with a sublime finish that was set up when all three Salt Lake defenders rushed to their left in a bid to block what appeared to be a certain shot at goal.
But Gerrard took the ball inside them, faked to shoot with his left foot before coolly slotting the ball into the bottom corner with a gorgeous touch.
