Shipp Jr was recruited to play the rapper despite having no formal acting experience. He was encouraged to take acting lessons to play the role.

It has hit stumbling blocks along the way, with the production going through two directors and is now in the hands of Benny Boom.

This one minute clip gives fans an indication of just how well Shipp Jr has pulled off playing the former Death Row Records man.
