This dad makes incredible action films with his son on YouTube

Ben Kenyon

Dad Skill Level: Elite.

We remember our hapless dads trying to play football with us down the park, or cobbling together a go-kart out of an old pram and some scrap.

But supremely talented American dad Daniel Hashimoto proved he’s the Godfather of all dads, if that makes sense.

Over the past few years he’s put together a series of YouTube videos that have turned his young son James into a cool CGI action hero.

Yes it helps that he’s a vis-dev animator at Dreamworks – who make epic kids films like Kung Fu Panda and Shrek.

But his vision and his knack for using Adobe After Effects has seen him create the Action Movie Kid series, turning short home videos into mini films where he’s more often than not blowing stuff up.

He turns little James into Iron Man in this clip…

And then in the next one he’s the captain of a ship in a storm…

Before he’s smashing up his local cinema for Captain America: Civil War…

The imagination is incredible. We really need to up our dad game. We could genuinely watch the Action Movie Kid channel all day.
